So next year I'm looking to study Chinese language at a Chinese university and I'm undecided on where to go. My Chinese girlfriend will be coming with me, so I would have free accommodation in Jilin where she's from, or in Shenzen where a rich family friend would let us use an apartment for free. I don't care to be around a lot of other foreigners(meaning I don't care either way), and I'm Australian and despise the cold (honestly anything under 10c), so northern cities are out. I'm leaning towards either Shenzen or Chengdu. Chengdu is pretty close to Melbourne's temperatures, and supposedly has great cuisine. Shenzen is my ideal weather and would have free rent, but I've heard it can be boring. Any thoughts? I'm also open to other suggestions
