Torquay - an all year round dog friendly destination In the last few years Torquay has become an increasingly dog friendly destination and is now an ideal place to have a short break with your canine companion. From the end of September to the beginning of April all beaches on the English Riviera welcome dogs. This includes Torquay's main beach Tor Abbey Sands. From 1st May to the end of September some beaches do have restrictions but many do not. Furthermore there are plenty of alternative places for dogs to get some exercise. Cockington Country Park is superb and there is a dog friendly pub in the village as well as a superb dog friendly tea rooms - Weavers. It has become extremely easy to go out to eat accompanied by your four legged friend and restaurants such as Wellies and The Waddling Duck in the Wellswood area of Torquay are very dog friendly.
