Lovely big room and bathroom. Comfy bed. Good food at the pub and really helpful staff. Would love to come back. The Sandcastle On Lowestoft seafront, The Sandcastle is a Victorian house overlooking the sandy beach. It is a flat, 10-minute walk from Lowestoft town centre, and serves home-cooked breakfasts made with local produce. The host are extremely nice and the breakfast is delicious! The one way system works really well, and the tables are cleaned as soon as someone leaves. Room was clean and the bed was comfy. The smaller of the pair is one of the oldest concrete lighthouses in Iceland, having been built in 1918. It was deactivated in 1947 after the townsfolk decided to utilise the larger structure only a few metres away. The first 'light station' was built on the promenade in 1910, though the construction we see today was completed in 1927. Aside from the lighthouse, the promenade's most recognisable feature is an enormous coastal rock arch, a consequence of centuries of erosion.
