Newcastle university accommodation kensington terrace mall

Hi all, Thinking of applying to Kensington Terrace, Marris House or park view student village? I ideally would self catered accommodation which is fairly sociable (like not too isolated such as the view which can apparently be a very unsociable accommodation). Really not arsed about having an en-suite, would be nice but i'm not fussy and I also don't care about what size bed i have either! Does anyone have any suggestions or advice? Thanks More about Newcastle University ( Original post by Mez. ) Hey Mez, I don't know too much about Kensington Terrace, so I can't offer you much advice on that front. But I did live in Marris House myself and found it to be quite a good balance on the social front, it wasn't super rowdy, but everyone from different flats did interact and invite each other on nights out etc. We had 2 bathrooms between 6 of us in Marris, which was quite a good number - you didn't have to wait for ages in the morning to get ready but you also didn't have to pay the premium for an ensuite, plus you got a sink in your room for brushing your teeth/washing your face etc.

Newcastle uni accommodation help! Kensington terrace, park view or marris? - The Student Room

Richardson Road accommodation used to be the most "sociable" (AKA the party halls), which has now been demolished in favour of Park View -- as Park View is brand new it's difficult to offer any advice on this. I will say Ricky Road was known as more of a party location because it was the cheapest and least flashy accommodation, obviously this has changed since they rebuilt it and it's now all brand new with ensuites etc so no doubt the vibe of the halls will change as well. Marris and Park view are really close to each other, meaning if you stay in one of them there will always be loads of fellow students around for you to socialise with. Hope this helps a little bit. Reviews Location is perfect right on campus and close to town, facilities were great with new kitchens and all room had en-suites which is always a bonus. The houses are also really big so it's very social. This hall is situated perfectly, right between town and campus so its handy for everything. Its modern and so spacious. You get cleaners once a week for the kitchen and living area which is really useful. Keycards are also so much easier than keys on nights out. Quite expensive but worth it.
